Frequently Asked Questions
Booking a dog photoshoot isn’t something you do every day, so it’s normal to have questions. Below you’ll find answers to the most common queries about my London dog photography sessions. If you need anything else, feel free to get in touch.
What if my dog isn’t well trained?
Many owners ask this when booking a dog photoshoot, but there’s no need to worry. I tailor every session to your dog’s personality and comfort level.
Before the shoot, we chat about what motivates your dog — treats, toys, balls, sticks — and I use these during the session to get the best dog portraits possible. Your dog can stay on a lead for calmer, more controlled shots, and leads are edited out afterwards.

What if the weather forecast shows rain?
Weather plays a huge role in creating beautiful outdoor dog portraits. I check in with you a few days beforehand, and if rain or heavy cloud is predicted, we simply reschedule your photoshoot for the next suitable time.
This ensures you receive high-quality images with the best lighting - which is one of the most important parts of creating stunning pet portraits.
Where do you travel for dog photoshoots in London?
I photograph dogs across all of London, making use of the Capital’s stunning parks and open spaces including:
Hampstead Heath
Regent’s Park
Primrose Hill
Highgate Woods
Battersea Park
Hyde Park
Richmond Park
Greenwich Park
Kensington Gardens
St James Park
I regularly work with dogs from areas including Highgate, Hampstead, Islington, Chelsea, Kensington, Notting Hill, Shoreditch, Hackney, Clapham, Battersea, Richmond, and more. So a mixed bunch and I love spending time with them all!
How long does a dog photo shoot last?
For adult dogs, sessions typically last up to two hours. This gives us time to walk, explore, and capture a variety of more formal portraits and action shots.
For young puppies, sessions last about one hour, with plenty of breaks for cuddles and rests!
What's the best time of day for a dog photoshoot?
I recommend meeting around 8am, when parks are quiet and the morning light is at its best to create beautiful dog photography – so please be prepared to get up early!

Do Dog Photoshoot Gift Vouchers have an expiry date?
No — all Dog Photoshoot Gift Vouchers have no expiry date. - I know it can be difficult to get organised and book in advance and I will always honour any gift vouchers that have been given. You can order a physical voucher which will be posted Royal Mail First Class or an instant digital download.
You can purchase gift vouchers on the Gift Voucher page.
Can you photograph dogs with poor recall and still capture action shots?
Yes - always! Many dogs stay on a training lead, which I later edit out in post-processing. This keeps your dog safe, while still allowing us to take fun running and action photos.
Bringing a friend is great fun and adds extra help to setting up action sequences.
Can owners be included in the photoshoot?
Absolutely — and these often some of my clients’ favourite images. Including owners creates warm and natural family-style portraits - and the regularly feature in the final choice of framed and digital images my clients purchase.
Not only am I a dog photographer, but I am also a portrait photographer. I have recently been announced as a shortlisted winner for the Portrait of Britain Vol. 8 Awards by the British Journal of Photography - so you are in safe hands with me!
These family style portraits are always included with Dog Photoshoot Gift Vouchers.
