‘Photography is an art of observation. It has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.’
Elliott Erwitt - world famous dog photographer
Creating something new
I’m Suzi Darsa, known as The Highgate Dog Photographer, and I specialise in creating contemporary, emotive and beautifully crafted dog photography in London. My work is driven by a lifelong passion for both dogs and photography, and this connection is reflected in the expressive, modern dog portraits I create for clients across London.
My approach to dog portrait photography focuses on emotion, character and visual impact. I aim to produce images that feel striking, stylish and timeless — photographs that celebrate the personality of all the dogs I work with. The result is a collection of portraits that not only showcases your gorgeous dog, but also hold lasting emotional value.
My background includes Public Relation roles at Tate Galleries, The British Journal of Photography and a leading digital image library. These experiences have shaped my commitment to developing a contemporary, design-led style of dog photography in London, and one that breaks away from the traditional conventions of dog portraiture. I want my work to feel fresh, modern and artistically considered.
I recently completed my Masters in Photography at Middlesex University and I have been shortlisted for the Portrait of Britain Vol. 8 Awards by The British Journal of Photography. My personal photographic practice continues to evolve, and I bring this same creative energy to all the photographic work I undertake.
Alongside my dog photography, I also work with families to capture authentic, character-filled portraits that can be cherished for years to come. You can explore more of my work at:
If you’re looking for a professional dog photographer in London who combines artistic vision with a modern, thoughtful style, I’d love to create portraits that truly celebrate your dog.
Aiming high
Starting out as a professional pet photographer in January 2020, I have gone on to achieve a top 100 placing in The International Pet Photographer Awards 2021 in their 'Open' category and have recently appeared as one of their featured artists.
I also work for commercial clients and I have recently been commissioned to complete a series of images of dogs and their owners for Transport for London to be used in their 2021 Active Travel Campaign.
Keeping busy
I am a member of The Royal Photographic Society and can often be found walking on Hampstead Heath, and taking photos of the dogs that walk there every day.
Many of these images can be seen in my Dogs of Hampstead Heath series, a personal project, and on my Instagram @thehighgatedogphotographer.
As The Highgate Dog Photographer, I am a proud supporter of the great charities All Dogs Matter and Jewish Blind & Disabled.
“Everything about our photoshoot with Suzi was fantastic. She has a natural way with dogs and people, making the session relaxed and fun.
Her wonderful photos perfectly capture our family and will be treasured. The quality of the prints is outstanding too - we couldn't be more pleased.”
